The Irony of Christmas

Sorry I haven't posted in forever, I'll explain why soon, but for today I want to share some thoughts I've had about this time of year.
I was thinking about what I wanted for Christmas and how everyone on my schools blog has been  saying "Keep Christ in Christmas." I never realized how ironic it is that at Christmas we ask for whatever makes us feel comfortable; whether that be new clothes, new electronic devices, money, etc. While we are spending excessive amounts of money on gifts and wants we as Christians need to remember that the savior of the world was born in a the lowliest of places, a filthy stable. We celebrate this season with pride, selfishness, and greed. While our king was born in the humblest way possible.  If it weren't for Jesus being born we'd have no hope, no joy, no peace. So this Christmas don't forget to thank God for his sacrifice, not just in his death on the cross but also in his birth.
